The Age of ADZ

I'm so excited. Sufjan Stevens has announced a new album, The Age of Adz, to be released October 12th on Asthmatic Kitty Records. After releasing a great Ep late last week, i can only hope this full length album will be as good if not better. And if the cover is any indication it will be, love this cover.

Matt Pond PA n Knoxville 5/18 at Square Room

Matt Pond PA on a great show but u wouldn't know it by the crowd at the Square Room in Knoxville, TN. a mix of old and young, probably the mostly mellow crowd ever...most people just sat down, listened quietly and clapped after sets. someone coughed and matt said "that might be the loudest thing all night." They played mostly newer tunes with some favorites. they didn't let the lackadaisical crowd effect their set, a great show minus the crowd. hope to see them again soon but they probably wont be in Knoxville for awhile. please come to lexington or louisville, i promise there will be a better crowd.

Week N Review 0.3

LCD Soundsystem: This Is Happening

Possibly LCD's last album Murphy began recording "This Is Happeening" the summer of 2009 in Los Angeles. This album is great from start to finish. “Dance Yrself Clean” opens the record (which to me is the best track) damn near 9 mins long, with mellow catchy beat, it starts off low switchin to a boisterous electronic tempo. The Album ends with "Home" which is a great way to end the album and maybe even LCD itself; it seems to sum up the whole album/LCD as a whole. If "This Is Happening" does end up being the final LCD Soundsystem release, Murphy certainly picked the right way to end it. Great Great album ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Week N Review 0.2

The Black Keys: Brothers

Considered just another garage rock band with the first six albums. They branched out a bit n '08 with Attack & Release and collaboratin with with rap artist such as RZA, ODB, Mos Def and Ludacris on their Blakroc side project they had really changed their style n a new interestin way. But on this album they got back to the roots a bit, with an exception to the single “Tighten Up,” produced by Danger Mouse. "Brothers" has slower blues ballads than the last few albums, this album reminds me of '04’s Rubber Factory, only a little tighter with better production value. ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Week N Review

Band of Horses: Infinite Arms

After two albums on independent labels, South Carolina's Band of Horses' made a major label switch to find a wider audience. In doin so, they have a much more mainstream sound. However they did not sacrifice or compromise what made them so great before or forget their old fans. These are songs that really show off their range as artist, Ben Bridwell's vocals find new peaks and are what makes this album great. From Factory to Neighbor this a great album. ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
